Who Visits Your Facebook Page?

Some of the most common Facebook scams out there prey on people curious about who visits their page. There are plenty of scams that cover this area, but there aren’t any apps that can actually show you who visits your page. If you see a post promising this, then it’s a scam.

Here is one of the most annoying versions of this Fb hoax:

OMG! Its unbeliveable now you can get to know who views your facebook profile.. i can see my top profile visitors and i am so shocked that my EX is still creeping my profile every hour. click below

When you click the link, you’re sent to a page that asks you to “like” the app, copy a javascript code, and  paste it directly into your browser. That’s a big no-no that will allow hackers to infect your computer with some dangerous malware. When you copy and paste code directly into your browser, you bypass certain security features that are designed to prevent hackers from infecting computers. You’ll essentially give their malware a big welcome and allow them to set up shop without any restraints.

Hopefully, your antivirus software will recognize the malware and give it the boot. There’s always a chance, though, that your antivirus software won’t detect the threat. It’s also possible that your antivirus software will alert you to the problem, but that you’ll trust the Facebook app regardless and choose to install it.

Don’t be a sucker for these hoaxes. Keep your antivirus software up to date and pay attention to the apps that you download. And never ever ever copy code directly into your browser.
